Keeper of The Light Off Season:The Light Keeper’s Lodge keeps watch over Lake Superior! Rent the entire Light Keeper’s Lodge in the off season. This special is great for reunions, small groups and holiday celebrations. Eight hotel suites and rooms, sleeping up to 32 (double occupancy), use of the great room and lodge kitchen. • A credit card is required to book you reservation, regardless of how payment is rendered. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover and AMEX. A deposit of 50% of the total rental amount including taxes is due when you make your reservation; the remaining amount is due upon check-in. We do not accept checks or cash.
• When making reservations, please be certain that the unit you reserve is the one you want.
• Except where noted changes on cancellations made outside of thirty days prior to arrival date will be charged a $50.00 handling fee. Changes or cancellations made within thirty days of arrival date will lose their deposit of 50%. No exceptions.
• Guests may leave early, but we do not give refunds for incomplete stays.
• Rental information subject to change.
• Camping or RVs are not allowed on any of our properties.
• Cribs and rollaway beds are not available.
• Pets are not allowed in homes unless otherwise stated. If pets are found, we reserve the right to terminate the remainder of your stay without refund.
• All of our guests may enjoy the use of our outdoor swimming pool, hot tub and beach. Weather permitting, our pool and hot tub are typically open from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend. Please bring your own beach towels.
• Please check in at The Inn’s Rendezvous Center for entry code and directions. Please call ahead to make arrangements if you will be arriving late.

Bring salt, pepper & spices (Ashland County Health Department rentals are not allowed to stock these items).
Bring plastic wrap and aluminum foil.
Bring beach towel (for pool and beach).
If rental is advertised as having a gas grill, the Inn will provide free propane exchanges.
Coffee is provided in all of our units. Some units have a Keurig using pods. Some have regular coffee and filters. You only need to bring coffee if you have a special preference.
Specialty soaps, lotion, shampoo & conditioner are provided.

Pet Guest Fee:
$50.00 per reservation for all houses and condos that allow pets.
Pet owners are asked to sign a document upon arrival spelling out their liability to any pet damage and releasing The Inn from any liability in attempting to enforce pet policies.
Additional Pet Policies:
Pets may not be left unattended in the room at any time.
Pets are not allowed in the restaurant or pool area.
Pets are allowed on the Pub patio, but they must be leashed..
If an unattended pet causes any complaint:A minimum charge of $50 per animal will be added to the pet owner’s account.
The Inn will send an employee to either quiet the animal(s) down or remove them to a kennel away from the source of the complaint.
If the owner of a pet cannot control his pet, thereby causing a complaint from others, the pet owner will be asked to vacate The Inn’s accommodation forfeiting any deposit or unused paid rental time.

An average snowfall of 70 inches makes the area an ideal destination for the snow lover. Opportunities abound for the adventurous, including cross country skiing on the island or on trails outside Bayfield. Or try snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing or snowmobiling. There is downhill skiing at nearby Mt. Ashwabay. And if winter conditions are just right, you can visit the Ice Caves in the Apostle Islands National lakeshore area. Or why not simply come to enjoy the vast beauty of clean undisturbed snow and sky?
The Inn offers a variety of accommodations for the winter season. Families and groups will love a winter getaway at a suite, condo, or townhome—especially one with a Jacuzzi tub and a fireplace.

A Madeline Island Winter
Transportation to and from the island in the winter varies with the weather. The ferry service continues to the island until, or if, the bay freezes. If the ferry stops running there is a short period of time when the wind sled is put into operation until the bay freezes. The wind sled is passenger only—no vehicles, runs a limited schedule, and lets passengers off about a mile from La Pointe. Some years the bay freezes enough to allow car traffic on the Ice Road. Ice Road conditions are carefully monitored. Call the Rendezvous Center or the Madeline Island Chamber for Ice Road information.
The Pub Restaurant is closed in the winter. Check the Madeline Island Chamber and Bayfield Chamber for restaurants and grocery stores that remain open in winter. It’s always a good idea to bring your own supplies!
The Light Keeper’s Lodge
Deluxe Suites and Deluxe Rooms
The Light Keeper’s Lodge is next door to The Pub, overlooking a lawn, the beach and Lake Superior. The lodge has six deluxe suites and two deluxe rooms, all beautifully decorated in nautical colors. The second floor suites and rooms are accessed by stairways at each end of the first floor hallway.
The six deluxe suites have fireplaces and deluxe bath areas with a whirlpool or soaking tub. Suites 401–402 are on the first floor and share the terrace facing Lake Superior. Suites 403–406 are on the second floor with private decks facing Lake Superior. The deluxe rooms 407–408 are on the second floor facing inland.
The Light Keeper’s Lodge is open during the winter season.
No pets are allowed unless the entire building is rented.
Light Keeper’s Lodge Great Room
The Light Keeper’s Lodge has a first floor Great Room with a gas fireplace, flat screen TV, and french doors opening to the terrace, lawn and lake, as well as an adjoining kitchenette.
This is a perfect venue year round for parties and weddings—rent the Great Room or the entire building! See Weddings & Events for more information.

The Bungalows
Deluxe Open-Concept Suites with Kitchenette/Dining Area
The Bungalows are nestled in a forest of oak, maple and birch. When you vacation here, you’ll probably see local wildlife like sandhill cranes and deer quietly passing through.
The upscale one-bedroom suites have either one king bed or two queen beds, deluxe mattresses, an in-room chaise or love seat (units 605 and 606 have a queen sleeper sofa), a gas fireplace, a dining area, a wet bar/kitchenette, a spacious bathroom with soaking tub and beautifully tiled two-person shower, air conditioning and in-floor heat. Each unit has a front porch and a door leading to the back yard (units 603 and 604 do not have a back door). The property has a fire pit, a gas grill and picnic tables.
The Bungalows are located approximately 1/2 a mile up the road from the Rendezvous Center, Pub Restaurant, The Inn’s various amenities and the attractions of downtown La Pointe. Drive time to the Rendezvous is about 2–3 minutes. Walking at a moderate pace takes about 10 minutes.

Deluxe Suites with Separate Bedroom
Nestled in the woods next to the beautiful Madeline Island Golf Course— and just past The Bungalows—these one bedroom suites have either one king bed or two queen beds in a separate bedroom. The large bathroom has a walk in shower. The living/kitchen area has a gas fireplace, a queen sleeper sofa, a side chair, a desk and a dining table. Each suite has a private patio or deck overlooking the golf course with a view to the sunset.
The second floor units are reached by stairways.
The property has a fire pit, a gas grill and picnic tables.
The Fairway Suites are located approximately 3/4 mile up the road from the Rendezvous Center, Pub Restaurant, The Inn’s various amenities and the attractions of downtown La Pointe. Drive time to the Rendezvous is about 3–4 minutes. Walking at a moderate pace takes about 15 minutes.
The Fairway Suites are open during the winter season.

Two Bedroom Condos with Loft
Overlooking the Marina and within easy walking distance to the pool and lake, these two bedroom units with lofts, offer all the amenities to ensure a great escape.
Each unit features two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning, fireplace and deck. Some units offer satellite TV and/or WiFi internet access.
The shared deck is a welcome addition, and the pickleball and tennis courts are right next to the condos. Behind the condos is transient dockage on a channel leading to the marina.
No pets are allowed. The condos are not available during winter.

The Glabins—Three-Season Glamorous Camping
Tucked away in the forest across from the Bungalows and Fairway Suites are our newest offerings.
Nestled in the midst of old woods and raspberry fields, our Glabins provide all the fun of camping: those cozy campfires, those starry nights, those yummy handfuls…
But when you stay in a three-season Glabin your “camping” experience will be much more “glamorous”. You’ll be close to nature, yet you’ll have all the comforts of home—full kitchens, comfy beds, screened in porches, and outdoor showers...
Snuggled under towering pines, you’ll fall asleep to the gentle sounds of nature.
You’ll wake to venture outside and pick a bowl of raspberries for breakfast—then enjoy them in the comfort of your screened porch. Later you’ll bike to the beach or take a hike through the woods.
You’ll find a whole list of activities at the Rendevous just down the road. Launch a kayak from the docks, swim at the pool, enjoy the hot tub, or play pickleball or tennis at the nearby courts.
Then take advantage of everything the island, beautiful Lake Superior, and the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore have to offer!
